Synopsis
First Contact / Signal · Standalone
A dish lies in the forest, older than the path that found it. A green eye burns at its center. The trees have leaned toward it. There is no crew. The frame does not admit a crash.
This is not a machine that fell into a wood. The wood is the antenna. The eye is not watching the sky. It is watching the direction the trees have agreed to grow.
The eye blinks once, and the whole clearing leans with the same gesture. The signal did not arrive from outside. The clearing chose a direction, and the dish is the mark that the choice has already been made. Whoever enters the circle leaves it facing something that is not on the map.
Extended sequence
After the cut
Two figures stay small in the trees. They do not approach the eye. Somewhere else a desk keeps one green lamp and a scatter of paper, as if listening could be done from a room that has never seen the clearing.
After the cut the lean of the trees does not relax. The path out of the circle is not the path that came in.

Small in the trees
The passage is green because the wood is carrying the light, not because a lamp was brought in. No name is filed for either figure. The frame keeps them smaller than the trunks. The object in Showcase is the eye, not a coat.

The sentence the camera would not hold: a forest can be the antenna, and the dish only the proof that a direction was chosen.
Sound of Imagination
Leaves against metal. A low tone in the bowl that does not become a word. Footsteps that leave the circle on a different bearing than they entered. No voice invited to name what the eye is looking at.

The eye, and the forest leaned in to keep it. If The Dish in the Clearing leaves the screen it leaves as that eye, not as a face. It points back to the circle.
