Cosmic Horror
Overview
Climate

Cosmic horror here is the feeling of being small, and of the sky not meaning what you thought it meant. It is not a monster with a face you can hit. Inside Darkness & Psyche there are six standalone films. None of them continues the one before it.
A sky that answers wrong. A moon with no name. A city that turns out to be dust. Ash from suns that are not ours. A tone in an empty radio room. A corner that is watching you.
This is not Quiet Apocalypse, and it is not a first meeting. Empty cities at night belong to Human & Fate. A handshake with the unknown belongs to Future & Machine. The silent nave under a borrowed sky is Gothic Horror. Cosmic Silence stays there.
The principle

Something is present, and it is larger than fear. These films will not turn the sky into a villain with a motive. If they did, you could leave feeling you had understood it. You are not meant to. Size is the fact. A spectacle would make the sky a set.
Give the sky a motive and you have made yourself important. These films will not. A pupil in the weather, a moon that is an iris, a city that is dust, ash from work that finished elsewhere, a tone with no sender, a corner that blinks — size is the fact. Your fear is a side effect, and not a flattering one.
The sky
When the Sky Answered Wrong. A lone figure on a dark plain looks up. The constellations stop being a map you can walk home by. Then the sky answers. There is a pupil where the weather should be.
Orbit of the Unnamed. A moon with a cold gold rim and no name in any catalogue. Time thins. Things keep their weight. Pull back, and the moon is an iris. We were never outside it.

The size
The Quiet Magnitude. A city of lights, very far down. The horizon is wrong by a few degrees. Keep pulling back. The city is dust on a surface that has no edge. The size stays quiet.
Ash of Distant Suns. Ash falls like snow on a ruined plaza. It is not weather. It is matter from suns that finished somewhere else. A face of cinders forms and is gone. The plaza is already cold. There is no one to blame.

The incoming
Signal from Nowhere. An empty radio room. Old instruments. A tone arrives. Nothing explodes. The grille is a mouth. The walls are a throat. The film does not invent a person who sent it. Normal was the first thing to go.
The Angle That Watches. Two walls meet at a corner that should not. Gold dust in a shaft of light. Then the angle blinks. It was an eye. The room has already been seen.

How to enter

Six cosmic horror films. One climate. Start with the sky if you want the plainest door. Start with the angle if you want the one that is already in the room. A story that continues lives under Episodes. These do not.
Orbit of the Unnamed if the moon has no name and does not want one. The Quiet Magnitude if the city was dust. Ash of Distant Suns if there is no one to blame and the plaza is already cold. Signal from Nowhere if the grille is a mouth. The Angle That Watches if the room was seen before you decided to look.
