Sacral Horror
Overview
Climate
Sacral Horror in World & Myth: sacred ground that no longer forgives — altars, silence, residual light. Standalone House films — chapters live under Episodes.
A chapel keeps the notes and does not return them. A copper box breathes when nobody turns a key. Light finds the shadow of a saint, and then the rectangle is only plaster. A bell lies on its side in wet grass. Dust holds two hands with nobody attached. Salt leaves an icon's eye and does not stop at the paint.

The principle
Holy rooms that do not comfort. Sacral Horror is not jump-scare in a church. It is residual light that no longer forgives.
The comfort left. The light did not. What remains is a note, a breath from a lock, a cleaner rectangle on a filthy wall, a tone out of the ground, salt on a board, dust that takes the shape of hands.
Chapel
Chapel of Unanswered Prayers is still in use, if use means the candles and the paper. A long ledge holds what people burned down and did not replace. Footprints in the dust stop before the empty niche. He stands with his back to the room and reads one note. His daughter. Still missing. The time he has left is borrowed, and the note says so. The wall is already papered with the same kind of sentence. Please. No response. The chapel keeps them. It does not return them. Chapel of Unanswered Prayers and The Icon That Wept are released.
The Relic That Breathes is a box small enough to carry and heavy in the way old copper gets heavy. Linen under it, already keeping the shape of whatever was set down before. Smoke leaves the lock in a thin, steady breath. Nobody is turning a key. On an ordinary table it sits among a chipped cup and a spent casing. The day around it has not stopped. The box has its own weather. When the breath stops, the lock clicks. The stain does not go back.
Bell
The Bell Without a Tower lies on its side in wet grass. There is no tower, no frame, no village taking credit. A bell without a tower still sounds in the climate. The hemp runs off into the grass as if someone meant to drag it and then did not. On the slate it lies mouth-open, the clapper visible, the rope doing nothing. Further along, a stone figure stands beside it, featureless, mossed the same green. The bell was not lowered for this. The ground took the job.
Holy Absence has been a chapel and is now a box of plaster. A rectangle worn into the dust. On the wall two saints are almost gone, the faces no longer faces. The light comes in late, copper, thick with dust. It does not restore the room. Where the icon should be, the plaster is a cleaner rectangle. Around it the wall is filthy. The clean is the missing. Then the rectangle is only plaster again. Nail holes. No picture. World & Myth holds this without turning it into folk horror — that other work lives under Darkness & Psyche.
Sacrament of Dust
Sacrament of Dust is a clay bowl, the dust smoothed into a circle, lower in the middle, like a place a hand was going to press and did not. Dust is a sacrament because nothing else is left to offer. Linen under it, marked with soot. Amber resin and small coals, left rather than offered. The resin lights. A column of sparks goes up and dies. Afterward the dust holds two hands. Palms. Fingers. Pressed, and nobody is attached to them. The rite ends there.
The Icon That Wept is nailed to the boards. Gold ground, cracked through the face. A line of salt leaves the eye and does not stop at the paint. It crosses the lower edge and goes onto the wood. This is not water. Salt stays. The crack was already there. The salt is using it. Nobody is standing in front of it. The room is the boards, the nail, and the dark next to the frame.
How to enter
Chapel of Unanswered Prayers if you want the unanswered as architecture. The Icon That Wept if a face is enough. The relic and the bell wait as rooms.
Holy Absence if the clean rectangle is the subject. Sacrament of Dust if the bowl is the rite. The Bell Without a Tower if the sound has already left the building.
A story that continues lives under Episodes. These do not.
