Neon Noir

The city keeps the ledger. The rain only delivers it.

Overview

Neon Noir — Aestas Infinity

Climate

Neon Noir in Future & Machine: rain, neon, and unpaid debts. The city keeps the ledger. Standalone House films — series chapters live under Episodes.

Glass under the rain is not atmosphere laid on afterwards. It is the street a life was replaced on. A floor that is only debt. A prayer that wiped a face and left the irritation, which is the honest part. A licence for rain, as if weather had gone into administration. A broken lamp that the alley has promoted to a goddess, because the alley has a crude sense of worship and an excellent sense of what still glows.

Chrome Veins remains a series under Episodes. It is not filed here.

The principle

The city keeps the ledger.

Night that sells light by the hour. The city keeps the ledger, and the ledger does not do nostalgia. Rain is not mood. It is the medium the debt travels in. You can stand under a sign. The sign is not on your side.

Noir here is not a coat. It is policy that keeps charging after the customer has left the premises, the decade, and in some cases the species.

Rain

Glass Alley. Sleep was installed in the street.

Neon Circuit is the lit mile that still thinks it is a promise. Colour on wet metal, a corner that has been owed since before the bulb. The circuit does not close in your favour. Circuits rarely do. They close where the bill is.

Glass Alley is the street where a designed sleep replaced a life. Bricks remember someone else's night. You can walk it. You cannot claim the dream you find stuck to the glass. That one was installed, and the installer did not leave a receipt.

Static Prayer. The face is wiped. The irritation stays.

Debt

Debt Floor. The building is the crime.

Static Prayer wiped a face and left the irritation. The prayer is the static. Whatever holy thing was requested did not arrive, and the residue is more honest than the request. A face you cannot quite have back is still a legal document.

Debt Floor is the building that is the crime. Not a crime in the building. The floors are the offence, stacked, let, still collecting. Noir in this climate is the rule that keeps charging after the customer has gone. The elevator agrees with the rule.

Rain License. Freight crossing a sky the city does not advertise.

Rain License

A platform that has already left the weather. One crate. No label.

Rain License is a permit, not weather that happened to a platform. Freight crosses a sky the city does not advertise. The case has no label it is willing to show you. Paperwork can glow. It should worry you that it does.

Wasteland Neon is the lamp that became a goddess because nothing holier was still powered. Pink and cyan are only light. The signs do not sell a readable word. Worship, in the alley, is standing where the filament still works and pretending that is a theology.

A broken lamp and a goddess made only of light. The signs sell nothing you can read.

How to enter

A face wiped off wet glass. The rain stays. No neon words.

Static Prayer if the wiped face is the law. Wasteland Neon if the goddess is still a lamp. Debt Floor if the building is the crime.

Glass Alley if the bricks are someone else's sleep. Rain License if the freight crosses a sky the city will not put on a poster. Neon Circuit if the lit mile is the debt.

A story that continues lives under Episodes. These do not.
