Prologue
Six hooded figures stand in a circle around a low fire and do not speak. Seasons pass across their open hands without a voice to name them: frost on one palm, then blossom, a dry leaf, snow, then frost again.

Synopsis
The keeper of the seasons holds both palms over a stone wheel set in the ground. Four seasons are worn into the face of it. The rim is already charred from an earlier night.
Char flakes the edge and does not yet fall. Marks carved in the wheel light in turn, dim and then sure.
Each mark takes its moment and gives the light to the next. When the last mark lights, the fire leans hard toward one figure and goes out. Smoke climbs that hood and thins into the dusk.
Extended sequence
After the cut
The other five lower their hands to their sides and leave them there. A petal that was blossom sticks to the stone and becomes a wet spot, nothing a voice would bother to call a season. The keeper says nothing.
The charred rim ticks as the stone cools in the open air. One last ember in the rim brightens and dies. A flake of char falls into the first season's groove, a small deposit that follows the going-out and does not relight the fire.
Figures in the frame
Who remains
They step away and leave the circle empty. On the hill the lit marks fade back into the rock. Smoke lies in long bands along the ridges.
The stone wheel rests where the fire leaned, seasons worn pale, edge black, and no voice comes back over the hill to name them. Frost returns to the open air and not to a palm. The wet spot where the petal was dries into the groove.
Codex fragment
Filed with the room
When the last mark lights, the fire chooses one figure and goes out. Whatever was asked does not follow them home. Fragments
No hood comes back up the hill to check the wheel. The groove that took the char flake keeps the flake. Pale worn seasons on the stone stay pale. The blackened rim stays black and ticks no further once the stone has finished cooling.
The scenario is filed in the Codex.
Sound of Imagination
Residual
No voices. Cloth. A low fire. The soft tick of a mark taking light. Then the fire deciding, and the hills holding the smoke. Sound of Imagination
Dusk deepens without a word laid on it. Where six figures stood, the ground holds no new speech and no new fire. Smoke that lay in bands is gone or going, and the ridges do not replace it with a signal.
Showcase
Object from the universe
A piece of the ground: the burnt circle, stones still faintly lit, ash in the shape the fire left. Taken off the hill. The Showcase
The six figures are gone from the circle and do not call back to it. The empty circle keeps the cooled wheel.
Smoke thins to nothing along the ridges. The char flake stays in the first groove. Dusk keeps the hill, and no mouth among the departed hoods returns to put a name on frost, blossom, leaf, or snow.
The Craft
Image · motion · sound
The circle and the marks already glowing are the still. Motion is the lean of the fire, and its end. The residual is smoke that belongs to no one leaving. The Craft
Frost on the open ground is only frost. The wet spot left by the petal is only a darker grain in the rock.
The circle stays empty. The wheel stays set in the ground.
