Key art

The share is the coin, and the text that will not melt when the cover shuts.

The share

The share is the story as it was written, before a picture existed to argue with it. Five parts, and they stay in that order: the hill, the noise, the passing of the coin, the surgeon, the laying to rest. A feed would have started at the click. A book does not.

The text already lives, in full, at An Eye for an Eye. This page is the weight of it, not a second copy and not a summary that pretends to be enough.

What stays out

The scenario stays out. It is an order for a camera, and a book is not a camera. The dossier stays out. Figures are a distance, not a chapter. The residual stays out. A click is not a sentence you can shut. The green line stays out. A lens is not a page.

Weight

Close it and the hill is still missing from the map. That is the test. If closing the share put the coin down, the share would be a comfort. It is not. It is the only form of the story that does not ask to be played.

The making

Paper, not a screen. The face on the coin can be the mark on the cover, asleep, and no larger than a coin should be. The room is An Eye for an Eye.
