Before the synopsis
A gardener in mud-colored clothes walks as if reading, lips moving, one step to a word.
Synopsis
The hedges are margins. A season has already edited the text: late red flowers have crowded a phrase near the pond, changing a permission into a warning without tearing anything out. He walks slowly enough that each white cluster can be a word.
Bees work the red by the pond and do not work the white in the same numbers. His lips shape the sentence without giving it sound the path can keep.
The hedges hold still. Minutes pass as that reading, step and word, and as the red phrase staying red, a warning he did not plant. He does not pull the red out.
Extended sequence
He keeps to the path until the sentence asks him to leave it. He reaches a gap where the sentence requires a step onto a narrow bed rather than around it. The wrong step lands in softer soil.
At once the white blooms nearest his boot shiver and re-form. The warning by the pond loses its last clause. He freezes, boot still printed in the bed, and watches the living sentence rewrite itself around the error.
Figures in the frame
Wind moves the hedges like a hand considering a correction. A single white petal drops into the print of his boot and does not get up. The shortened word does not grow the petal back.
He steps back onto the path, retracing, trying to return the sentence to the length it had. Some of the white flowers follow his retreat and some do not. The shortened word remains shortened.
Codex fragment
The garden holds the shorter sentence, and the unread beds wait in a light that will change them again by evening. The petal in the print stays where it fell. He does not step off the path to fetch the length he lost.

Sound of Imagination
Light on the unread beds goes a degree warmer and does not rewrite them by itself. The gardener's lips stop shaping words. Mud on his cuffs dries at the edges.
Showcase
He stops at the hedge with the route unfinished, unwilling to risk another verb. The red intrusion by the pond stays, a season's edit he did not author.
One red bloom turns a petal toward the white and stops halfway, neither phrase willing to finish the turn. His boot prints end at the hedge.
The Craft
The shortened white cluster nearest the path holds its missing bloom as an empty space a bee investigates and leaves. The red phrase by the pond keeps its lost clause gone.
Hedges settle after the wind and look like margins again, not like a hand.
