Fool's Gate: The Hold
A hull filing the dead without a passenger list
Key art
The room the tone keeps
Fool's Gate: The Hold is a hull filing the dead without a passenger list. The film is the troop-ship: one swinging lamp, hammocks, black water under the boards, a kit brought aboard that was not asked for.
What the frequency does
Forty hertz of hull. Creaks that are not drums. Water that refuses to be a seascape. Sleep is declined as a courtesy. The score gives the song a ship when the song wanted a house.
After the last bar
The kit remains when the file stops. The Hold is the film that plays it.
