FADE IN:

EXT. YELLOW HILL — DAY

A hill of yellow clay, smooth, with no path. Shepherds stand far off and look at the sky instead of the slope. THE SEARCHER, forties, walks up alone. His left eye is a war implant. It does not blink when the sun hits it.

The niche is one cut in the clay. No offerings. No vessels. No inscription. A skull is sealed into the salt, facing the rock. The Searcher knows how the dead are turned. Toward sunrise. Toward home. Toward the people who come after. This one faces a wall. He tries to turn it. The bone does not move.

CLOSE ON the left socket. No soil. A gold coin has grown into the bone, and thin gold veins run through the skull like roots. He touches it. It is warm. The jaw clicks shut, a dry sound, like a door in an empty house. He does not remember deciding to take it. The coin is in his hand.

The implant prints, quiet green, and only for him. FOREIGN CARRIER. Then CAPACITY REACHED. Other lives arrive without voices: a hammer, a cold room, a count of debts. No faces are offered to the lens. The coin changes hands offscreen. One of those nights belongs to the story and is not shot.

INT. A KITCHEN — NIGHT. THE SURGEON, eighty, sits with tea going cold. His hands tremble. His eyes do not. He has tried to throw the coin away and tried to melt it. It came back whole. He says the coin may devour a person and leave behind something that remembers the face. He leaves it with THE KEEPER, a woman who washes the unnamed dead and does not want to take. By morning his own mind is empty. The Searcher's is not.

EXT. A GRAVE — DAWN. What the dogs left is buried facing the sunrise, which the first skull refused. Forceps lift the coin. It is ice-cold. It does not go in the mouth. It goes back into the left eye. The jaw clicks. The noise of the other lives stops. One person remains, and a silence he recognises from inside the hill.

The implant prints once more. CAPACITY AVAILABLE: 1. The face on the coin is asleep. It is not laughing and not weeping. The picture does not answer whether he buried her or installed her.

FADE OUT.

Filed with this scene: shooting script, breakdown, shot list, lookbook, costume, design, makeup and hair, sound.

Scene 1. The hill, the kitchen, the grave. 3:00. 16:9.

Three places. One coin. It stays one picture.

A skull faces rock. A warm coin is taken. It comes back ice-cold, into an eye, and the grave is allowed to face the morning.

Little dialogue. The implant may print three lines. It does not narrate them.

Day, then night, then dawn. Build the hill before any face.

Cast. THE SEARCHER, forties. Twenty years at the work. Left eye is an implant, built to withstand anything and forgive nothing.

THE SURGEON, eighty. Hands tremble. Eyes do not. Tea goes cold.

THE KEEPER, adult. She washes the unnamed dead. She does not take the coin.

The skull. Sealed facing the rock. A coin in the left socket. Gold veins in the bone.

Shepherds stay far, and they are not a scene. The night the coin passes through a quarry is not shot.

Lens

Wide holds the hill, the shepherds far off, and the grave. Close and macro hold the socket, the coin, the jaw, and the green line. Medium is for the two people who already know what the coin does, and who do not explain it to the lens.

Costume

The Searcher wears field clothes that have already worked. No insignia. The implant is the only mark.

The Surgeon is in a plain shirt. The tremor is in the hands, not in a costume.

The Keeper wears what a person wears to wash the dead. Nothing ceremonial.

The hill has to be real clay.

A smooth yellow slope, one niche, no path cut for the camera. The skull faces rock, not the sunrise. The coin is grown into the bone, not set on it for the still.

The kitchen is a room where tea can go cold. The grave is earth, forceps, dawn. No monument.

No beauty makeup.

The Searcher's face is tired from eleven days, not painted tired. The Surgeon's eyes are steady. The hands are not. The Keeper is not lit as a symbol.

The skull is bone and salt and gold vein. It is not a prop smile.

No score. Room, a carrier, a click.

Room tone. Wind on clay, with no music under it.

Held note. The implant, a hum with nowhere to go. Not a melody.

The click. The jaw, once when the coin is taken, once when it is returned. Do not score it.

The other lives have no voices.
