The Hour Kept
Key art
Synopsis
Rain on a street that is mostly reflections. Plated dark, a Scorpio mark lit purple, red across the cheek, wet hair, a smile he has not earned. She is in a black jacket, water on the mouth, eyes level.
You hide everything behind silence. The line is hers. The hour is what she keeps by saying it where he cannot store it.
Headlights and signs smear behind them. The inch of rain between their faces is the actual subject.
Extended sequence
He leans like a man who thinks charm is a shelter. She does not lean back and she does not close the gap. Once silence is named, it stops working as a cupboard.
She clocks it. That is the keeping. He would rather the minute stay unspoken and therefore unowned.
Figures in the frame
Scorpio, armored, wet, pleased with his own restraint. Capricorn, jacket, rain on the lashes, finished with the restraint.
The purple plate does the announcing for him. She does not need a pin. The sentence is the pin.
Codex fragment
The corner is two of his sign and a bill of venom. The cliff is paper in snow. This is a night street and a quiet that got caught.
An hour kept is a record, not a romance. She is holding the record in her mouth.
Sound of Imagination
Rain on plate. Rain on a jacket. A far engine, then the line, then water again. Sound of Imagination.
His smile has no sound. That is the problem she just named.
The Craft
Still: two wet profiles in neon. Motion: rain off the armor's edge. Residual: the street doubled in the water. The Craft.
She said the hiding out loud. He does not get to put it back.
Showcase
Keep the purple plate, not the wet street. Showcase.
The skyline is any night. The plate shines while he pretends to be quiet.
