One Story
Key art
Synopsis
Left profile, wet dark curls, a short beard, mouth a little open, a heavy coat. Rain falls straight through blue-green fog. Behind him spears rise out of shallow water, some wrapped in torn cloth.
One spearhead takes a small warm glint. The rest stay cold. He is not looking at the iron and he is not telling it to you.
A sequel would need a second man or a reason. The water has spears and no reason.
Extended sequence
The cloth is the only evidence of bodies, and the bodies are not in attendance. He stands in front of that grammar and does not narrate it.
Wet and dirt on the cheek read as weather, not as a promoted wound. He stays mostly silhouette. The iron speaks.
Figures in the frame
One man, the hands out of it, no second lead and no plan you can see.
The spears are the company. They outnumber him and they are done moving.
Codex fragment
The glass eye announces a beginning and withholds the noun. This minute has the noun and will not start a second chapter. The shafts are the chapter, identical on purpose.
Refusing a sequel is a field of iron that does not progress.
Sound of Imagination
Rain on water. Wind in torn cloth. Sound of Imagination.
The open mouth is breath, not a title. He does not announce one.
The Craft
Still: a profile against a stand of spears. Motion: the rain. Residual: cloth that used to be on people. The Craft.
A living man in front of the iron, so you cannot pretend it is only a monument.
Showcase
Keep one wrapped spear, not the man as a poster. Showcase.
He is the witness. The spear is the story.
