Synopsis

Pale grey-blue, a skyline so faint it might be a stain. Long red-blonde hair, amber eyes, a black leather jacket, a gold zip, the smile small. He leans in, wet dark hair, a wider grin, black leather, a face that has started to crack.

Light runs in the cracks. One eye is orange and working harder than a face should. The condition is that eye. It has refused the ordinary lid.

They are too close for a skyline to matter. It matters anyway, because it is the only calm thing.

Extended sequence

Her smile does not match his damage, and she does not retreat from it. The glow does not warm the sky. It stays on the skin.

A blink would put the orange out for a fraction. The shot is built on that fraction not being granted.

Figures in the frame

The cracked light, the burning eye, the grin of someone who knows the effect. The gold zip, the amber, the composure beside a face coming apart.

Leather on both. A pair of jackets and a mismatch of skulls.

Codex fragment

Burned Horns is embers and a mane that will not leave. This is thin daylight and a man whose eye became the fire.

You can blink. In this frame, he does not.

Sound of Imagination

Wind at a height. Leather. A small electrical tick off the cracks, or the idea of one. Sound of Imagination.

Nobody has to say the title. The eye says it by staying open.

The Craft

Still: an orange eye beside an amber one. Motion: his lean. Residual: a pale sky that will not match the heat. The Craft.

The cracks keep their light. A blink would be a mercy. The shot is not funding one.

Showcase

Keep the orange eye, not the skyline. Showcase.

The city is a smear. The eye is the event.
