Dangerous Devotion
Key art
Synopsis
Stepped pools, marble, neon cut into the stone, thin falls doing their job without comment. Short curly blue hair, freckles, gold at the ear, a maroon jacket, a white Scorpio glyph, the face of someone on a post.
Behind her: silver hair, a short grey beard, grey and gold, a smaller Aquarius mark. A gold water-bearer glows over the water. A wooden plaque holds the two signs and no sentence.
This devotion is not a kiss. It is a woman in front of the pools and a man who has taken the second place.
Extended sequence
The water keeps moving. They do not. A devotion that fidgeted would be a smaller threat. This one is stationed.
The urn was asked to witness and then refused to speak. The falls continue without it.
Figures in the frame
Scorpio, the serious mouth, the blue hair, a glyph you can read across a court. Aquarius, the beard, the mark smaller, the body placed as support rather than as a partner.
Hands down. Empty hands plus a decision not to leave the water.
Codex fragment
Off the Scale puts these signs on either side of an instrument. This minute puts them in a line, her first, and uses the hard word because a soft one would be a lie.
The falls do not bless the arrangement. They continue.
Sound of Imagination
Water on water. A little echo off marble. No vow under the stance. Sound of Imagination.
The gold urn does not pour. You notice, because the falls are pouring and it is not.
The Craft
Still: two glyphs and a gold bearer over the pools. Motion: the thin falls. Residual: neon in the stone. The Craft.
She is the guard. He is why the guard is dangerous. The water is not on their side.
Showcase
Keep the water-bearer, not the marble. Showcase.
Marble is the building. The bearer is the sign that refused to pour.
