Synopsis
Lira “Static” Vey used to design perfect dreams for the elite of New Cascadia. Faces, streets, childhoods written in code — sold as private sleep.
Now those same dreams are being used to erase her from existence. In a city where memory is currency and identity can be rewritten, she discovers that someone is not only stealing her work. They are installing it in place of her life.
Extended sequence
After the cut
Synthetic Dreams keeps a minute the poster cannot carry. In the held atmosphere the corridor after the last shot is still lit. That minute belongs to the room.
Figures in the frame
Who remains
A figure stays at the edge of Synthetic Dreams. Not named yet. Not extra. When the dossier is written it will begin from this frame, not from a cast list.
Codex fragment
Filed with the room
The Codex files what Synthetic Dreams would not keep on the still — Episode. Fragments
Showcase
Object from the universe
When Synthetic Dreams leaves the screen it can become print, artifact, figurine, sound edition. The object is not merch. It is a thing taken out of the held atmosphere. The Showcase
The Craft
Image · motion · sound
Synthetic Dreams is built in stills first, then motion, then the residual. The method stays visible so the room does not pretend to be a feed. The Craft
Filed in The Houses
The Houses · the held atmosphere
Synthetic Dreams is filed under The Houses in the held atmosphere. The house keeps the climate. The climate keeps the film.
After the frame
Mark · keep · letter
Released rooms keep a mark from one to five, a keep on this device, and letters that stay with the page after the feed has moved on. Synthetic Dreams is ready.
