Synopsis
Twelve figures on a gold ring pressed into snow. A staff, a bow, a cape, a small fire at one edge. The trees are black. The ground has already given up.
Boots stay on the metal. Opening the ring into pairs would be a different night, and this one will not spend itself that way.
Horns, a hood, a pale dress, armour that reads as metal. Each face gets the light once. The gaps belong to the snow.
Extended sequence
The fire does not travel. One cape turns. Another figure holds still long enough to be counted and then is only a coat again.
White is already in the branches. When this set breaks, it breaks somewhere else. Here the ring is shut.
Figures in the frame
Full bodies, spaced like a clock, none of them enlarged. The shared thing is the gold under their feet.
Fire at one hem. Horns catching what little sky there is. The snow treats them as the same problem.
Codex fragment
Later, two of these faces will have a private argument. This is the hour before that split.
The ring is the older fact. The weather did not wait to be introduced. It is already on the bark.
Sound of Imagination
Boots on metal, cloth changing direction, wind in wet branches. Sound of Imagination.
The fire adds one small crackle and does not get a theme written over it.
The Craft
Still: metal under snow. Motion: one turn of the capes. Residual: white on black trunks. The Craft.
The turn spends the last dry minute the trees had. It does not appoint a winner.
Showcase
Take the ring, not a grid of twelve icons. Showcase.
A grid would make them a menu. What can leave is the circle under the boots.
