Synopsis

Indoors. A lamp doing the work the sun is not. She is close enough that leaving would be a production. He is in an open white shirt, mouth working, the exit not finished.

You don't get to leave and call it love. That lock is already on the minute. His answer is smaller and worse. Then I don't leave.

Two green scorpions, one on her dark and one on his shirt, mark the sign so the furniture does not have to.

Extended sequence

The lamp stays warm. Nobody reaches for a coat. If the door is in this room, it is not in the argument.

Not leaving is not the same as staying well. It is a retraction. He pulls the exit back into his mouth and parks it there.

Figures in the frame

Her brow is already at the verdict. His mouth is still shaping the concession. An inch apart is too near for a clean departure and too far for peace.

The white shirt is the brightest lie in the room. It looks like a man who was about to be reasonable.

Codex fragment

The corner minute is heat, scars, and a gold insect with no furniture. This one has a lamp and a man who heard the lock.

Love is the word being refused. His feet may still know the door. His mouth has been told to stop helping them.

Sound of Imagination

A lamp, which is almost nothing. Breath. The soft hit of a word taken back. Sound of Imagination.

No coat leaves a hook. No heel finds a threshold. The room sounds like a room that won.

The Craft

Still: two profiles and a lamp. Motion: his mouth on the retraction. Residual: the small green marks. The Craft.

He stays. The reason he was given is not the reason he uses.

Showcase

Keep the lamp, not a door. Showcase.

The door never made the frame. The lamp did, and it is the only warm thing that is not a person.
