Synopsis

Iron and broken panes, rain coming through a roof that still pretends to be a roof. Wet black curls, a green knit off one shoulder. He is bald, corduroy gone dark with water, looking at her and not at the ruin.

The place forgot them. That is the half he stands in. And I remembered for both of us. Hers, and her eyes are closed when it lands.

They are wet because the building failed. Nobody is performing the weather.

Extended sequence

A drop on his temple. The knit holding water it was not made for. They stay in the same square of air, which is the only repair on offer.

Remembering, here, is one person doing the work the glass refused.

Figures in the frame

Pisces, the curls, the green, the lowered face. Virgo, the work shirt, the small earring, the decision to stand where the roof is a rumour.

She is not asking the building to apologize. He is not taking credit for what she kept.

Codex fragment

The meadow minute is sun and ivy and small figures the grass refused to lose. This one is adults in a failed glasshouse, doing the remembering by hand.

A heavy courtesy. He is not prompted into gratitude. He is left close.

Sound of Imagination

Rain on iron. Rain on a knit. The quieter hit of water on corduroy. Sound of Imagination.

Two uneven breaths. The building contributes the drip and nothing wiser.

The Craft

Still: her closed eyes, his watch. Motion: rain through the failed roof. Residual: iron that still outlines a room. The Craft.

She did the remembering. The glass did not assist.

Showcase

Keep the green knit, not the iron skeleton. Showcase.

The knit held the water and the person. The frame of the house is a corpse.
