One Ship
Key art
Synopsis
A deck, not a departure. A long red braid, dark armor, round plates, a drinking horn in her right hand. Blond beard, hair tied, the same metal, the same decision to be still.
A gold goat stands on a wooden chest. Another is cut off at the corner, as if one animal were not stubborn enough.
One ship. Neither sails. Elsewhere is a rumour the horn does not need.
Extended sequence
The horn is not raised for a toast you get to join. It is kept. Two people keeping can look like a crew and behave like a locked cabinet.
The goat is standing on the luggage. Nobody is packing the luggage.
Figures in the frame
The braid, the horn, the plates. The beard, the tied hair, the matching metal. Dressed for a voyage they are declining in real time.
The second goat, only partly in frame, is the joke. Even the animal stayed.
Codex fragment
Altitude, elsewhere, is a red-lined survey and a price. This is the harbour: a horn, a beast on a box, and no interest in a horizon.
A vessel is a promise. They are using it as furniture.
Sound of Imagination
Wood under a boot that does not travel. A horn that does not clink. Metal feet on a chest, which is silence, because the goat is cast. Sound of Imagination.
Wind, mild. Not a sail.
The Craft
Still: a horn and a gold goat. Motion: none that counts as leaving. Residual: a cracked pale wall and a dark rail. The Craft.
The ship remains a theory. The deck is the fact.
Showcase
Keep the horn, not the letters in the air. Showcase.
What you can take is the cup that did not toast a departure.
