Burned Horns
Key art
Synopsis
Silver hair to the jaw, a metal jacket, her face turned up. He is bare to the chest, the mane still long, embers sitting on the skin. The line is his. And I shed my mane to find you.
She burned the horns to get this close. That half is not softer.
The sky behind them is still blue. The burn is local.
Extended sequence
A spark crosses the inch between cheek and mouth. Neither of them flinches it off. Shedding, here, is something he says while still wearing the hair.
Her jacket throws the fire back. His chest keeps it. That is the argument about what each of them gave up.
Figures in the frame
Aries, pale and cut short, the animal taken off the head. Leo, gold in the hair, the animal not as gone as the line claims.
They are close enough to share breath. The embers do the touching.
Codex fragment
Another Leo minute is a gold belt in the rain and a hand on a coat. This one is heat, a metal jacket, and a confession the picture will not confirm.
The mane was supposed to come off. It is the largest thing in the frame.
Sound of Imagination
A soft burn, like hair too near a flame. One breath. The tick of a spark on metal. Sound of Imagination.
The confession gets no accompaniment. The fire is already the only sound that fits.
The Craft
Still: silver against the mane. Motion: embers crossing. Residual: fire sitting on skin. The Craft.
The line says the hair was given up. The picture keeps it, which is more honest.
Showcase
Keep one ember, not the sky. Showcase.
The sky was going to be blue anyway. The object is the spark that landed and stayed.
