One line
Before the synopsis
A blank cloth lies between them, weighted at the corners by nothing but its own hem.
Synopsis
Occult Ritual · Standalone
Candles burn at the four corners and do not smoke. The flames are the same height. Their hands move the rite — palm up, a turn, palm down — and no voice joins the motion.
The silence is not a stumble or a forgotten line. The gestures are practiced and already complete, as though the important part is over before they take their places. Stone under their shoes gives back no scrape they do not choose.
Dark strokes appear on the cloth, one and then another, with no breath to fog the air above it. The strokes are wet-looking and then dry. A woman opens her mouth.
Extended sequence
After the cut
Her throat moves once and the hall does not take a sound from it. The strokes go on without her and finish a mark she never spoke. The mark is a closed shape, dark, and it does not drip past the cloth onto the stone. She shuts her mouth again.
The others never open theirs. Their eyes stay on the cloth or on the middle distance, not on one another for long. The cloth does not shift.
Figures in the frame
Who remains
A corner that might have lifted in a draft stays flat. The rite offers nothing further. No fifth gesture arrives.
The square of bodies is only what remains of it. One candle leans a fraction in a heat-shimmer and stands straight again. Wax still does not run.
Codex fragment
Filed with the room
No one reaches to fold the cloth or to pinch a flame. The hall keeps the finished mark in the middle of the floor, and nobody adds a sound to it. The four mouths stay closed while the candles burn level and the stone keeps the square they have not stepped out of. The square does not tighten and does not break.
The scenario is filed in the Codex.
Sound of Imagination
Residual
A voiceless invocation is still a score. Residual belongs to Sound of Imagination.
One adult shifts a foot and sets it back inside the same worn spot on the stone. The mark on the cloth does not fade and does not add a stroke. Candlelight stays even on the four faces and does not find an open mouth. The woman who opened hers keeps it closed.
Showcase
Object from the universe
A still of the closed mouth. Not a charm. The Showcase
The finished mark loses its wet shine and stays dark. The candle flames stand straight.
The mark on the cloth is whole and dark. They lower their hands and leave them down at their sides. Palms face their own thighs.
The Craft
Image · motion · sound
Stills of the throat. Then the room. Then the fog. The Craft
No echo of the missing sound comes back from the low ceiling. Wax pools do not form.
The cloth's hem stays where it was laid. Their lowered hands do not rise for a second rite.

The next room
After this filing
The hall keeps the finished mark between them, dark and whole, and the only motion left is the small steady burn of four flames that still do not smoke. The next room is The Offering Left Open.
