This plate is its own room. The pairing is not a unique key.
Synopsis
Night rain, chrome overpass. She walks the alley as if lateness were a weapon, which it is. He stands in the path in a coat that thinks it is a lock. She says standing in the door is not a threat. It is a queue. He says he stings after closing. Stay in line.
She is not kicking the door. She is late. That is worse. The door is already open. His name is on the lock. They walk through anyway.
Extended sequence
Leather hiss. Chrome drip. Ice-cyan in the puddles, ember-red far back like a rumour of traffic. After they pass, the lock still has his name and the rain still does not care. Cheerful venom. Mysterious manners.
Figures in the frame
Aries Woman — wet leather, silk at the throat, late on purpose. Scorpio Man — the queue, the sting, the name on the lock. The ram steps when she steps. The scorpion holds. The overpass is the only roof that will have them.
Codex fragment
Aries Woman × Scorpio Man, city venom — not the quarry (that is the man and the woman reversed) and not the gate. Three rooms. Three dirt types. Keep them.
Sound of Imagination
Rain alley. Leather. Lock click. Sound of Imagination.
The Craft
Still: the overpass. Motion: two coats walking through a name. Residual: cyan in standing water. The Craft.
Showcase
Heavy blackened steel. A closing plate, the scorpion tail still fixed to it. Not merchandise. Showcase.
