Psychological Horror
Overview
Climate

This is psychological horror without a monster at the door. The fear is already in the room with you. Inside Darkness & Psyche there are six standalone films, and none of them continues the one before it. A short visit. Then you are out.
A corridor of identical doors. Fog on open ground. A house that keeps the people who left. A television whose static looks back. A mark on the floor that was there first. A mirror that answers half a second late. Watch them in any order.
The principle
A monster at the door would be a gift. You could shut the door. These rooms have already included you in the inventory. The corridor, the fog, the house, the noise, the mark, the glass — none of them need an intruder. The intruder theory is how a person stays innocent, and innocence is not available here.
Walked before
Corridor Once Too Often is the plainest door. High walls, the same doors, one light further on. He marks the wall so the corridor cannot lie to him. The marks multiply. The corridor does not.
Figure in the Fog has no walls. Dead plants, a pale sky, a tall shape that will not become a person. He walks toward it. It does not get larger. Open ground is not safety.
Kept
The House That Remembers does not chase anyone into the night. One window is lit. The rest of the house has not agreed. The furniture is gone. The outline in the dust is still there. Fog moves. No one leaves.
The Marked Floor is simpler, and worse. A mark on the boards, not drawn and not burned. It never grows. The house around it does. People who step across it lose an hour, or a name they cannot place.
Looked at
Eyes in the Static is an empty room and a screen that should be dead. Shapes gather in the noise and never become faces. When the screen goes dark the room is worse, because the noise was at least a place to look.
The Mirror That Answers is cracked glass with a hole at the centre. She raises a hand. The reflection is late on purpose, then smiles when she does not. Watching was the risk. You took it when you faced the glass.
